💬 Message To My Clients

Life brings both expected and unexpected challenges. At times, its demands can feel overwhelming—leaving you drained, sad, confused, angry, lost, or hopeless. Booking an appointment is a courageous first step. It’s a way to press pause, take stock of what’s troubling you, and give voice to the thoughts and feelings held in your body. Together, we’ll create space for those emotions to be seen, heard, and reflected upon.

I will sit with you in your discomfort, walk alongside you as we chart a path forward, and help you build resilience and healthy coping strategies. I will celebrate every small step you take toward becoming the person you wish to be and creating the life you desire.

My practice is rooted in an eclectic, client-centred approach. I draw from a range of theories and modalities—including family systems, trauma-informed care, cognitive-behavioural therapy, and brief solution-focused techniques—while integrating my own life experiences, education, and professional journey.

🌈 What to Expect in Therapy

Whether you're a kid, a teen, or a young adult, starting therapy can feel a little scary — and that’s okay. Therapy is a space just for you, where you can talk about what’s on your mind, learn new ways to handle tough stuff, and feel more like yourself again.

Here’s what you can expect:

👋 First Session: Just Getting Started

• Meet & Greet: You’ll meet your therapist and get to know each other. They’ll explain how therapy works and answer any questions you (or your parent/caregiver) might have.

• Sharing Your Story: You can talk about what’s been bothering you, what’s going well, or anything you want help with. You don’t have to share everything at once — you can go at your own pace.

• Setting Goals Together: You and your therapist will figure out what you want to work on. That might be feeling less anxious, handling big emotions, improving friendships, or just having a safe place to talk.

🌟 Therapy Is a Journey

You don’t have to “fix” everything right away. Therapy is about learning, growing, and feeling better step by step. Your therapist is here to support you — no matter what.

🧠 What Happens in Therapy

• Talking & Listening: You’ll talk about your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Your therapist will listen closely and help you make sense of things.

• Creative Tools: Depending on your age and style, therapy might include drawing, games, writing, role-play, or other fun ways to express yourself.

• Learning Skills: You might learn ways to calm down when you’re upset, speak up when something’s wrong, or handle stress better.

• Homework (Sometimes): Your therapist might give you small things to try between sessions — like journaling, practicing a skill, or noticing your feelings.

💬 How You Might Feel

• Safe & Heard: Therapy is a place where you can be honest without being judged.

• Uncomfortable (Sometimes): Talking about hard stuff can feel weird or emotional — that’s normal, and your therapist will help you through it.

• Stronger Over Time: As you keep going, you might feel more confident, more in control, and more like yourself.

🔒 Privacy & Safety

• What you say in therapy is private. Your therapist won’t share it unless they’re worried about your safety or someone else’s — and they’ll explain that clearly.

• If you’re under 18, your therapist might talk with your parent or caregiver sometimes, but they’ll always try to include you in those conversations.

Empowering individuals and families to live joyfully and fearlessly through all of life's changes.
